my cousin, raki, went to boracay last week with our other cousins. she got me one of those small bottles with sand in it and has this cute little design that says, 'boracay.' it was a cellphone "keychain" or whatever you call that. basta. so I put it on my phone, and then got up to leave, and then this happened:
boo! so she gave me a bracelet instead.

here kitty, kitty.
Last month, we went to Sibonga, in the southern part of Cebu, to do an ocular on my grandparents' lot that they want to sell. On the way back, we saw this cat sitting on the road. I just had to take pics! It looked so "compact." And it has that suplado cat look. haha.

yum yum tree.
on tuesdays, my dad goes to carcar, where the family business is. my mom usually doesn't cook when my dad doesn't have dinner at home. we usually just order take outs. the power went out before i could buy take out (and went right back on after about 10 minutes, but the car was already out. hehe), so we decided to eat out.
we went to yum yum tree! it's one of my all-time favorite restos. they have good food, generous servings and low prices. plus, everytime i go, there will always be a bit of childhood nostalgia. my earliest memory of eating at yum yum tree was when i was about 5. the resto was at a different location then, along mango avenue, near my school. my cousin and i would usually go and eat there.
anyway, so today we ate at yum yum tree, and i pigged out. i had one lechon kawali meal, one spaghetti with meatsauce and one order of toasted bread. :D i am so running at the oval tomorrow!
anyway anyway, my mom was surprised at the bill. we ordered 2 lechon kawali meals, one pork nilaga meal, one spaghetti with meatsauce, and one toasted bread. and each meal had lots and lots of meat. total bill was only about P300+. yay!

possible, but improbable, last post.
some american religious sect had predicted that the world is going to end at 6pm their time, or 2am on may 22 here. i don't really believe them, but a part of me is scared. i mean, what if it turns out to be true?
my condo-mate back when i was living in Makati lent me her book, 'Einstein's Dreams' by Alan Lightman. i haven't returned the book, and i'm not done with it yet. and she hasn't been looking for it. hehe. anyway, it had a chapter on the end of the world. an excerpt can be found on my old friendster blog here. in the book, the end of the world is depicted as a somewhat peaceful transition, unlike the prediction for may 21. there's supposed to be earthquakes and the world will crumble and people will rupture, etc etc etc.
on the off chance (in my opinion) that the prediction is correct, i'm unprepared. and if today was my last day, it wasn't well spent.
didn't feel too well today. that time of the month. had stomach cramps, which felt like bad hyperacidity, the entire day. but it was okay, nothing i couldn't handle. i was looking forward to pirates of the carribean and fudge. we had originally planned to watch the first screening so it's not crowded. then we moved it to after lunch, then to 2:30pm, then it became 5:30pm. at that point i was fed up and too annoyed. so i said, nevermind, i wasn't in the mood anymore.
maybe it's pms or, technically, ms, or whatever. i was so annoyed. and all he did was apologize. what good is that going to do to me? all i need is one apology to know that you're sorry. after that, it's all useless. you don't have to tell me over and over. what i'm looking for is action. what i'm looking for is for you to find a way to make up for it.
am i too shallow? am i too demanding? am i just looking for a fight?
this probably doesn't make sense. i'm scatterbrained today. and i got too excited.
so i'm at home. bored and anxious, itching to get out of here tonight. and most of the people who used to be just a text away are too far away. sandra is in qatar. shirley is in new zealand. vica and blair are in different parts of canada. my college barka-family is all the way in manila. kiko and raki are in boracay. anan is God knows where. taf is studying for his exam on monday.
the one person that i could depend on to keep me company has let me down.

Kopi Roti.
Twas a boring Friday. I had been in the house the entire day. I wanted to go out, but I wasn't sure where to go. So I dragged J to Kopi Roti. Why Kopi Roti? Because Vaneng and I had wanted to go to Kopi Roti last Sunday. We thought we'd go after mass, which was at 6, but when we got there the Columns branch was already closed. Boo!
This is me finally satisfying that craving...5 days after.
Oh, and...

Oh, and...
guilty.
fuck. i'm feeling so guilty.
i'll be on vacation with friends on my mom's birthday. i told her already before because i thought it would be okay, and she seemed okay with it. but now, she just asked me when i'll be leaving for my vacation and when i'll be back, and she was like, "so you're not gonna be here on my birthday."
oh shit shit shit. :(
i need to find a way to make up for it...a surprise party perhaps? waaaaaaaaaah.

Pork Pinakupsan.
Today I made pinakupsan. It's pork chopped into small pieces and then fried until the fat shrinks. "Kupos" is a bisaya term that means shrink, hence, the name of the dish. I also made sauce, which is basically soy sauce with onions, garlic and sili espada (long green chili).
It's really very easy to make. For this one, I had used previously boiled pork maskara (left overs from when we made sisig). Chopped it into smaller pieces, then put salt and pepper to taste. After that, just fry it until it's crispy and the fat has shrunk. Then that's it.

It was a success. Yay! My cousin, Oyong, even said so.
And my little beggar, who was begging for a piece even if it wasn't finished yet.

pooh bear. :)
This morning, before our internet went crazy (apparently, there's something wrong with our filter, so it gets disconnected every time the phone is used. And my dad uses the phone a lot in the morning for work.), I was looking at Winnie the Pooh quotes over tumblr. I don't know what it is about that half-naked overweight bear, but he's just so sweet that Winnie the Pooh quotes are an automatic reblog for me.
Anyway, I just thought I'd share what I found so far:
awww, pooh bear. :)
Anyway, I just thought I'd share what I found so far:
Piglet sidled up to Pooh from behind. “Pooh,” He whispered.“Yes Piglet?”“Nothing,” said Piglet, taking Pooh’s paw, “I just wanted to be sure of you.”
When you wake up in the morning, Pooh,” said Piglet at last, “what’s the first thing you say to yourself?”
“What’s for breakfast?” said Pooh. “What do you say, Piglet?”
“I say, I wonder what’s going to happen exciting today?” said Piglet.
Pooh nodded thoughtfully.
“It’s the same thing,” he said.

If you live to be 100 then i want to live to be a hundred minus a day so i never have to live without you.

oDesk.
I've been trying to make the most of my being an unemployed student and the fact that I'm on summer vacation by trying to make money out of small jobs here and there. I've heard of oDesk months ago, but I never really checked it out until earlier this month. And I can say, it's the real deal. There really is money on the internet.
So I've been doing these small transcription jobs, and I've also been applying in some writer jobs. There are a lot of jobs available, but it's mostly related to SEO and web designing, and I have very little know how when it comes to that. There are also other jobs related to accounting, statistics, even call center type jobs.
We were lucky enough to get a good client who paid us more then $200. Beginner's luck? :) It was a ton of work that we did over the span of 11 days, but it was worth it. I mean, no one's just going to hand you $200. That's almost the amount of the monthly pay minimum wage workers get in this country, which is sad.
But anyway, if you're just bumming around like me, why not check it out?
And if you'd like to help me out, you can be my referral, just click the link below. :)

my very first post.
I have been "forced" into getting a blogger account so I can make an Ad Sense account. Not that I'm complaining, I'm glad I have this new outlet.
Now, if there was a way to link my tumblr to this account... On second thought, I think I'll make this my more personal one. :)
